Autocomplete

What’s that you say, you want autocomplete?

Fair enough:

Autocomplete in PN

And don’t say we never do anything for you!

p.s. this post brought to you by the “what have you been wasting your time on” department
p.p.s. massive thanks to Manuel Sandoval who did much of this work
p.p.p.s. this still isn’t visual studio – it’s just ctags and keyword completion right now

More Programming Fonts

I’m always on the hunt for good programming fonts. I’ve been meaning to post these links for a little while now, so here they are – screenshots to follow:

Scott Hanselman linked to Inconsolata, a nice-looking ClearType font for programmers (use the OpenType file on Windows).

DamienG then tweaked Inconsolata to his liking and made it available as InconsolataDG – I like this version better as it distinguishes number 0 and letter O better. Damien also provided a nice post showing a number of monospaced fonts side by side. He then went on to release an improved version of his own “Envy Code” font with ClearType hinting: Envy Code R.

For the “can’t be bothered to read your text” crowd, here are the links again:

Forums Updated

I finally got around to updating the excellent bbPress software that runs the forums – they look nice now! The release version of bbPress shows a huge amount of polish over the last build that I installed with many improvements to the admin interface, and yet it installed cleanly on top – that’s good software.

Kudos to the guys and gals that produce both Wordpress and bbPress – those two packages are responsible for my blog, the pn web site and the pn forums.
