Processor Usage Art

I hereby propose a new art form – CPU Usage. One of our products at work manages to consistently produce this beautiful work of art:

Processor Usage Art

This is just the start, I should imagine that all sorts of images could be made with the right code. Then art critics could define the mood of a piece of software according to its CPU Usage imagery. Fun for all the family!

Python SideBar for Firefox

Occasionally I enjoy writing python scripts – I use python to automate a number of coding tasks, including use alongside cog the code generation tool.

When I do, the one thing that I find a bit of a hassle is navigating the documentation – it never seems to be to hand or organised in the way that I want to browse it.

Help is at hand from Edgewall Software who have a very handy Python Sidebar for Firefox available for download. This provides a nice reactive browsable Python reference including the tutorial, language reference, library reference and module index.

Edgewall also have an open source project system which includes a wiki for team documentation and integrates with subversion – it’s called Trac.
